In an auction, a confusing second costs you the item. We designed a marketplace where every bid, countdown, and win is clear the moment you look.

Challenge

Buyers need urgency without confusion. Sellers need tools that don't feel like paperwork.

Approach

Live states first, trust everywhere, and a seller flow as easy as posting a photo.

Outcomes

  • Live bid states at a glance
  • Seller-friendly listing flow
  • Trust built into every screen

The problem

What Was Dollar Auction Up Against?

Auctions live and die on trust and urgency. If a buyer can't tell in a glance what's live, what it costs, and how long is left, they don't bid - they leave.

And if listing an item feels like filling in a form, sellers never show up in the first place.

The approach

How Did We Approach It?

  1. 01Designed live item cards that show bids, countdowns, and sold states at a glance
  2. 02Tuned category browsing and filters for discovery, not endless scrolling
  3. 03Put current bid, time remaining, and seller trust signals front and centre on every product page
  4. 04Made creating and running an auction feel as simple as posting a photo

Results

What Results Did Dollar Auction Achieve?

  1. Week 1

    3

Bid states - live, closing, sold - designed so no one ever has to guess.

  2. Month 1

    1 glance

To see the current bid, time left, and who you're buying from.

  3. Ongoing

    2 sides

Buyer and seller flows on one system, so the marketplace grows without friction.

Beyond the numbers, bidding finally feels like the fun part - and winning feels fair.

The work, up close

Maansi was extremely patient and had outstanding communication. I only wish I started working with her way earlier.

After launch

What Happened After Launch?

Within its first 30 days, Dollar Auction App crossed 1K+ downloads and held 80% daily active users by week two - a sign people weren't just trying it once, they were coming back to bid again. It's sitting at a 4.8★ rating from real users. The roadmap didn't stop at launch either: Social Bidding Rooms for real-time bidding with friends and AI-powered Smart Bid suggestions are both in motion, with an eye toward expanding into digital collectibles down the line. The foundation built for trust and clarity at launch is still the foundation it's growing on.
